Candidate packets and an application for place on the ballot may be picked up in the City Secretary’s Office starting on January 19, 2022.The City Secretary’s Office is located at 3418 Memorial Drive, Beverly Hills, Texas, 76711, phone: 254.752.2584 x 4.

The next General Election will be held on May 7, 2022. All Mayoral and Council Members positions are At-Large. The following Mayoral and Council Members terms expire in May 2022:

First day to file as a candidate is Wednesday, January 19, 2022.
Last day to file as a candidate is Friday, February 18, 2022, 5:00 p.m.

CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY REQUIREMENTS:

  1. be 18 years of age or older on the first date of the term to be filled at the election
  2. be a citizen of the United States
  3. have not been determined mentally incompetent by a final judgment of a court
  4. have not been finally convicted of a felony from which the persons has not
  5. been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disabilities
  6. have resided continuously in the state for 12 months and in the city or in the district or ward, as applicable, for six months immediately preceding the deadline for filing an application for a place on the ballot (for a write-in candidate, preceding the date of the election).

Additional Eligibility Requirements to Type A General Law Cities:

To be eligible for the office of mayor of the municipality, a person must be a registered voter and must have resided within the municipal limits for at least the 12 months preceding the Election Day.

Ballot by Mail

McLennan County registered voters are eligible to request and receive a ballot by mail if any of the following conditions prevents them from voting in-person during the early voting period or on election day:

1. Expected absence from the County during both the early voting period and on election day. (The ballot must be mailed to an address outside the County.)

2. Disability

3. 65 years of age or older

4. Confinement in jail and not finally convicted of a felony.

Voter Qualifications:

  1. be 18 years of age or older on the date of the election

    1. Fully discharged his sentence, including any term of incarceration, parole, or supervision, or completed a period of probation ordered by any court
    2. been pardoned or otherwise released from the resulting disability to vote
  5. be a resident of the city on the day of the election
  6. be a registered voter on the day of the election
