Lighting of the Christmas Tree is normally held the first week of December. Celebration includes: lighting of the outside Christmas Tree, a visit from Santa Claus, and refreshments.
Held annually to honor citizens, employees and associates who have given their time so freely to the city in order to make it a better place to live.
The Department of Public Safety sponsors an annual Halloween carnival for our children from all over in an effort to promote child safety and to keep the children off the streets. Games, costume contests and refreshments are provided to young & old.
The City of Beverly Hills partners with the Optimist Club of Waco annually to host a Bicycle Rodeo. The purpose is to educate and train young bicycle drivers in the hope of preventing accidents. This is an opportunity to educate parents and children about the safety aspects of riding a bicycle on streets and roads and is a family event that focuses on safety. Each participating child is entered into a drawing for a new bicycle and various other prizes. Every year we are able to give away new bicycles to the children in our community as well as surrounding communities by donations and contributions from local merchants. Our goal is for each child to leave the rodeo with a new helmet, a bicycle that passes the safety inspection, a goody bag full of prizes and the knowledge of how to safely and correctly ride their bicycle. If an organization would like to be a contributor to the Bicycle Rodeo, please contact the City Secretary.
